In October we’ll be starting a course called Alpha.  It runs once a week, normally on a Tuesday night.  There’s free food, a short talk and the chance to chat over coffee along with others who have come along for the course. 

You can ask any questions you like, so you get to talk about things that you might not normally get the chance to in a traditional church setting.

The first night is an introduction evening.  There’s no small group chat on the first night, just food and a talk about what the course is all about to give you a feel for it.  If you decide it’s for you, then you can sign up for the course.  (It’s all free.)

Some of us have been on the journey of following Jesus a long time, others of us are just starting out discovering what God is really like. (He’s not like some have portrayed him..!) What we’ve all found is that the journey of getting to know God simply makes things different for us, and for the many others around the world who are on the same journey. We do a bunch of different things, to find out more click on “What we do”.

What do we believe?
Basically we believe in the teaching of Jesus that can be found in the bible.
In a nut shell, we believe Jesus was telling the truth and that he really did rise from the dead after being killed on a cross. This was an awesome, mind boggling expression of God’s love for us that might sound like a fairy tale. But it has released power for us to live life in a very different way if we follow him. It means we can have a truly spiritual life, encountering God in our every day lives.

Where are we based?
We meet on a Sunday in the Netherton Community Centre which is in Temple/Shafton in the Knightswood area in west Glasgow.

What is Elim?
Elim is a group of pentecostal churches. There are over 500 Elim churches in the UK and over 9000 word wide. We also partner with other churches in Glasgow and further afield as we work together to reveal the loving heart of God to the people of Glasgow and Scotland.

(So no, Elim isn’t an area of Glasgow you’ve not heard of…!)

KidSpace

At some times of the year we run KidSpace for children of nursery and primary ages.   Just as it sounds, the idea is to make space specially for kids during our Sunday Gatherings where they can have fun, meet friends and experience what God is like.

Other ages…

Babies and toddlers are very welcome, but we don’t provide special activities for them at the moment.

At some times of the year we run a midweek group for teenagers where they get to explore God and chat about the things that are relevant to them.

Prayer
We meet to pray regularly. God doesn’t want to keep His plans a secret and he wants us involved in what he is doing in this city and nation. So we pray to see God come and make things different. (Matthew 6 v10)

Healing
We offer healing prayer. We’ve seen many people healed of all sorts of conditions, including medically verified cases of serious illnesss or pain which God has simply removed. God is real and he is powerful and most importantly he is loving. We offer healing prayer for emotional or spiritual needs as well as physical. So if you or someone you know needs healing, come along.

Explore
We run an Explore God course, which is an opportunity to explore God in a relaxed way. It’s once a week and we have food, a talk and then chat in a small group to explore things for yourself and ask the questions that you want. We also run a similar course for teenagers, geared up specifically for young adults.

Events

We run various events designed to help people find out more about God and experience what he’s really like. He’s very different to the way people have sometimes portrayed him.

Sometimes we do things like barbeques etc. which is just a great chance to get together and get to meet folks and get to know each other a bit. Let us know if you want details of these events or to ask how we can help you as you progress on your spiritual journey through life…
