* Men Acting for God - Men Acting for the Nation

We run an Explore course to help people who are on this journey.

Topics include:

• Essence 1: Exploring how Identity and Belief Systems relate to Destiny.
• Essence 2: Becoming Spiritually Aligned for a Supernaturally Empowered Life.
• Connection 1: Activating Spirituality. Spiritual Guidance and Hearing God.
• Life Keys 1: Exploring Ancient Teachings and Principles and how they can be applied as Life Keys in today’s world.

The course runs a few times a year and allows you to explore some of these issues for yourself.  There’s usually food, a short talk on a topic like those above and the opportunity to practice some of the spiritual techniques for yourself. There’s also plenty of opportunity to chat and ask questions over coffee along with others who are on the same journey.

It’s a relaxed evening where you can ask any questions you like,  so you get to talk about things that you might not get the chance to in a traditional church setting.

The course is free.  (But you can make a donation towards food if you’d like to.)

Our Leadership
The church leader is Andy Fulton.  He’s married to Joanna and they have 3 young kids. The church Core Leadership Team consists of Andy and 3 others. Together they are passionate about people getting to know God for who he is and living as the people God made them to be. The Core Leadership desire to follow the lead of Holy Spirit to ensure church is shaped as God wants it, with firm foundations and structure as well as a fluid, organic nature. They see part of their role is to empower people to live the unique destiny God has for them, so that we’re all taking our position in the Kingdom army of God, in order to see the Kingdom advance in Glasgow, Scotland and beyond in the exciting times in which we live.

What do we believe?
Basically we believe in the teaching of Jesus that can be found in the bible. (The words of God in the bible are the foundation of all we believe and do as a church.) If you want to know what that is, then read the writings of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John as a starting point.
In a nut shell, we believe Jesus was telling the truth and that he was more than just a man with a few followers. What he did has released power for those who choose to believe and trust in him, to live a truly spiritual life, returning to an ancient reality where we live personally knowing God!  If you want exact details on what we believe then visit the Elim Website below and click on beliefs.

What is Elim?
We are an Elim Pentecostal church. Elim is a movement consisting of over 500 Christian churches in the UK and over 9000 world wide.  We also partner with other churches in Glasgow and further afield as the people of God work together to reveal the loving heart of God to the people of Glasgow and Scotland.

Where are we based?
We’re in Glasgow, Scotland.  Our main gathering on a Sunday is in the Netherton Community Centre which is in the Netherton/Temple/Shafton area, by Knightswood and Anniesland in the west of Glasgow.  Because we relate to people from all over the place in modern society, we have folks travel from other areas too.

We love kids and young people, and we recognise the responsibility we all have to nurture them. We want to help them develop into healthy adults who have a sense of belonging, identity, purpose and destiny.  This doesn’t happen by itself, so we’re purposeful about working together to make sure children are valued within the church community.

Children and young people are encouraged to experience God for themselves and play an active part in the Kingdom of God. We like to honour what God puts in people of all ages and make space for God to work in and through their lives in exciting ways.

KidSpace

We like to make space for kids during our Gathering. Some of the kids like to join in during the music, moving around, waving flags. They can also relax with the other kids doing some drawing at the kids table if they like. At some times of the year we run KidSpace for children of nursery and primary ages.   Just as it sounds, the idea is to make space specially for kids during our Sunday Gatherings where they can have fun, meet friends and experience what God is like.

Other ages…

Babies and toddlers are very welcome. We don’t have special activities or facilities for them, but we have lots of people who make them feel welcome.

At some times of the year we run a group for teenagers where they get to explore God and chat about the things that are relevant to them. Get in touch for more info.

Prayer
We meet to pray regularly. God doesn’t want to keep His plans a secret and he wants us involved in what he is doing in this city and nation. So we partner with the Kingdom of God by praying in order to see God come and make things different. (Matthew 6 v10)

Healing
We offer healing prayer. We’ve seen people healed of all sorts of conditions, including medically verified cases of serious illnesss or pain which God has simply removed. God is real and powerful. We can offer healing for emotional and spiritual issues as well as physical. Just come along on a Sunday, you’ve got nothing to lose by trying God!

Life Groups
There are various groups of people who connect at different times and places other than the Sunday Gathering to get to know each other and learn more about God. It’s really helpful to connect with others on the same journey who you can relate to and partner with. There’s groups for women and men. (See men for more on MAG-MAN.)

Explore
We run an Explore course, which is an opportunity to explore God in a relaxed way. It’s once a week and the point is to explore and encounter God for yourself and ask the questions that you want. We can offer similar opportunities for young people too.

Inside Out
We love to express the Kingdom of God in various ways outside of our gatherings. Jesus came to the earth on a mission and we follow his example, led by Holy Spirit, to see God’s heart expressed to people who don’t know what he’s really like. We’re involved in events like Light and Life (see our links page) and are always working on exciting expressions of the Kingdom of God in the city.

Events
We run events to help people from all backgrounds, with or without any experience of church, God or spirituality, to find out about God and experience what he’s really like. There’s no bashing you over the head with a giant bible, no-one claiming to be perfect and no-one wearing gold chains asking for money!
